Multiple Snogasms
I'm sure you've heard by now, that after our blizzard this weekend with 28"+ of snow, another giant bucket of the heavy white stuff will be dumped onto the DC Metro area. The National Weather Service is calling for anywhere between 10-20" of snow starting noon on Tuesday.
Sure, we've been poking fun of the snow on Twitter and Facebook. The blizzard has accumulated quite a collection of hashtags: #snowpocalypse, #snotoriousBIG, #snOMG, #snowmaggedon and my personal favorite, #snogasm.
But aren't "gasms" supposed to be, um, pleasurable?
We're in our fifth day of being snowed in, and the inevitable cabin fever is setting in. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for hubby, he's had to report into work yesterday and today. I don't envy his trek to and from work as there is no above ground Metro service nor are our regular bus lines running. At least three feet of snow is blocking our car thanks to our wonderful snow plows. Good thing the grocery store is in walking distance.
Thankfully, my sister took one of the few buses running to come visit us. She helped relieve me from my four year old, who of course is bouncing off the walls or begging to watch tv all day long. I would take her outside to play in the snow, but that would mean taking the newborn out too. My sister must love me because what is normally a 20 minute bus ride turned into a 2 hour trek. She's spending the night at our apartment because the buses stopped running at 7pm.
I definitely feel lucky, as some of my fellow DC Metro Mom bloggers, like Devra, lost power over the weekend. Jodifur still hasn't gotten her electricity restored, and Pepco is telling her not until Friday. That's almost a week folks!
So that's where it stands. We're on our last drop of milk. We still have lots of food since our Super Bowl party was canceled. However, I still have quiet of bit of wine and vodka left. If we weren't all snowed in, I'd throw a snow party. Just like the hurricane parties we had in college.
Heck, if I'm going to have mulitple snogasms, I might as well wear my beer goggles.
An original DC Metro Moms post.
While Thien-Kim is hunkering down the next blizzard with her riesling, she'll be posting her musings on parenting at I'm Not the Nanny and her recipes and crafting tutorials at Cup of Creativi-Tea, and just maybe have a chance to report on her Dr. Oz 90 Day Sex Challenge via Laugh in Bed.
